Richard Clayton Miller

He was born on March 31, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Richard “John” Leroy and Betty (Taylor) Miller.

Clay married Glenda Emmons in 1989. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2020. He was also preceded by his parents, and sister Cathy Miller Beers; and two stepsons, Dave Kyle and Doug Kyle.

He is survived by two sons, Seth Miller of Bartonville and Matt (Nichole) Miller of Pekin; one daughter, Shelly (Michael) Laux of Pekin; nine grandchildren, Spencer, Jacob, Benji, Max, Trevor, Chelsea, Davey, Dougie and Joey; 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet (Darrell Shallenberger) Homerin of Pekin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clay proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his enlistment he worked as a carpenter out of Local 644 and as a millwright out of Local 1693 for many years.

He was the former owner of The Arlington in downtown Pekin from 1989 to 2003.

Cremation has been accorded to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
