Richard Rawlings

Born February 28, 1938 in Peoria to Richard Wallace and Cecile (Flynn) Rawlings, he married Norma Hagan. He later married Shirley Jones on September 16, 1977 in Peoria. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his son, Richard.

Surviving are two daughters, Rae Lynn (Randy) Friederich of Bartonville and Robin (Gary) Jackson of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Brandy Price of Peoria, Michael Friederich of Bartonville, Richard Rawlings of St. Louis, Missouri, Kristen (Brandon) Reese of Green Valley and Shae Lynn Stone of Peoria; four step-daughters, Deanna (Buddy) Hoppingarner of Hanna City, Alice (Scott) Payne of Peoria, Kathy (Clifford) Haggard and Barbara Brentrup; one step-son, Timber Isbell of Galesburg. Also surviving is a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Brentrup, with whom he had a special relationship.

Richard had worked through the Laborers Union, working on road construction.

He enjoyed showing cars at car shows, winning many awards including Best of Show for his 1986 Camaro. He was a huge New England Patriots and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved celebrating his birthday with his daughter, Rae.

His graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at West Jersey Cemetery. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
