Richard "Rick" Conkling

Born February 4, 1959 in Peoria to Lawrence D. and Patricia Ann (Williams) Conkling, he married Jessica Faunce on December 31, 2012 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are his father, Lawrence (Ida) Conkling of Pekin; three daughters, Tennia Conkling, Alicia Hamilton, both of Pekin and Alana Cortes of East Peoria; two sons, Jake Hamilton of Pekin and Jose Cortes of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Gracelynn Fahenstock and Addison Fahenstock, both of Pekin; one sister, Andrea (John) McDaniels; several nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Jackie Faunce of Pekin.

His mother preceded him in death.

A proud union man, Rick worked as an operating engineer out of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria, recently receiving his 25 year pin.

Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He loved spending time with his wife, Jessica and his dog, Wyatt.

He was a member of Pekin R/C Club in Pekin, where he enjoyed all types of R/C’s. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and racing motorcycles in his early years.

Rick had a passion for fixing things and making them better.

A gathering celebrating Rick’s life will be held a t a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
