Ricky J Bennett

He was born June 26, 1975 in Pekin to Ricky Joe and Tamre Ellen Bearden Bennett.

Surviving are 1 son, Cory Freeman of Topeka; his mother and step-father, Tamre (Delbert) Atterberry of Topeka; father and step-mother, Ricky (Rondona) Bennett of Pekin; grandparents, Mike and Carol Bearden of Manito; great-grandmothers, Rose Bearden of Pekin and Virgetta Ball of Manito; 2 brothers, Douglas (Tricia) Bennett of Manitoand Joseph (Heather) Bennett of Havana; 1 half-sister, Grace Ann Bennett of Farmington; 4 step-brothers, Delbert Atterberry, Jr. of Pekin, David Atterberry of Colorado; and Trebor Huddleston and Chauncey Huddleston, both of Green Valley; 4 step-sisters, Cheyenne Huddleston of Green Valley, Cheryl Atterberry of Pennsylvania, Angel (Matt) Atkins of East Peoria, and Towanda Atterberry of Pekin.

He was an amateur radio buff and enjoyed woodworking.

He had done volunteer work for the Salvation Army and the Sara Center when he lived in Springfield, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation.
