

Born May 13, 1955 in Pekin to Robert and Lois (Merritt) Harms, he married Diana “Dee” Whitley on September 5, 1997 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Tina (George Jackman) Wagle of Pekin; two grandchildren, Elijah and Elicia Wagle of Pekin; four brothers, Robbie (Vickie) Harms of Pekin, Ronnie (Janice) Harms of Mapleton, Rodney (JoAnn) Harms and Terry (Teresa) Harms, both of Pekin; many nieces and nephews and his lifelong best friend, Herman Cross.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a machinist since September 4, 1973.
He had attended the Lighthouse Church of God in Pekin.
A loving and devoted grandfather Rick loved being with his grandchildren, working on bicycles, working in his garage and riding around the neighborhood on his buggy. He was also an avid fan of racing and wrestling.
His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastors Keith and Debbie Moore will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded.
