He was born May 5, 1960 in Peoria to Richard and Wilma (Laughary) Mudd. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Diane Miller; one sister-in-law, Vicki Mudd and Brother-in-law, Thomas Potts.
Surviving are one son, Shawn (Breanna) Mudd of Pekin; one daughter, Juliann Golan of Pekin; four grandchildren; Tyler Castleberry, Kaydence DeForest, Kylee DeForest and Jerry DeForest, III; two brothers, Terry Mudd and Mike (Annette) Mudd, both of Creve Coeur; one sister, Connie Potts of Creve Coeur and many nieces and nephews.
Rick loved spending time with family and friends and drinking coffee. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Smithville Cemetery in Hanna City.
