Robert F Deakin

Born May 19, 1930 in Pekin to Percy and Mary T. Steinbruner Deakin, he married Mary Ann Underwood on December 30, 1950 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Stephen R. (Julie) Deakin of East Peoria; one daughter, Cathy (Randy Struben) Martin of Green Valley; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters; one brother and two sisters.

Mr. Deakin worked 33 years for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville, retiring in 1982 from the instrument and combustion department.

He was a life member of the Peoria Sportsman Club. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 916 in Pekin.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting and following retirement enjoyed woodworking.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Private graveside services will be in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
