Robert "Bob" Earl Harvey

Born March 24, 1947 in Peoria to Robert L. Harvey and Shirley J. Peden, he married Nancy J. Miller on August 8, 1987 at their home. They were married for 39 years and forever. She survives.

Also surviving are their three sons, Michael T. (Barbara) Harvey of Lewiston, Clinton G. (Bonnie) Padgett of Texas and Dustin D. Smith of Pekin; one daughter, Alexis J. (Troy) Sledge of Nebraska; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Rick Harvey of East Peoria and one sister, Jeannie Harvey of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Kari Session.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force, stationed in Vietnam as a mobile combat communication operator.

He had worked as an electrician for IBEW and Williams Energy Plant.

He was a member of Glasford United Methodist Church.

Bob was a kind and loving man, a true friend to all who knew him. He would dress as Santa Claus for families in need, supplying food and toys so that the children had a wonderful holiday. He loved to go golfing, fishing, deer hunting, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Yankees.

A gathering celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Glasford United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday at the church. Pastor Marty Ellison will officiate. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
