

Born December 27, 1941 in Elmwood to Vernon Layton and Gladys Dora (Slane) Hogue, he married Kay Lynn Harkness on November 28, 1963 in Elmwood. He later married Lorraine Wilson Schwab on December 27, 1990 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Gladys Matthew of Elmwood, three daughters, Penny J. (Robert) Althiser of Elmwood, Shelly L. (Jim) Cornwell of Creve Coeur, and Tara R. Williams of Peoria; two sons, Robert V. (Sara) Hogue, Jr. of Maquon and Christopher Laws of Pekin; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Sharon K. Shanklin of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his father, step-father (Jay Matthew), and two brothers (Don Hogue and Roy Hogue).
Bob was a truck driver for Schmidgall's in Morton, last working in 1985. He previously owned and operated the Brown Jug in Trivoli and had been a mechanic.
He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Peoria.
Bob loved his family. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and watching Matlock on television.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Bill Buselmeier will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
