Robert H Mutton

Born April 16, 1937 in Peoria to Hiram and Bertha (Franklin) Mutton, he married Geraldine Kay Cannon on December 31, 1976 in Peoria. She survives.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Mutton of Pekin; one step-daughter, Mary Lynn Shrum of East Peoria; Belinda Young of East Peoria, who was like a daughter; one step-grandson, whom he raised, Garry Patton of Lincoln; one brother, Ronald “Joe” Mutton of Peoria Heights; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his favorite dog, Taco.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-daughter, Terri Kay Fellers; one sister, Ruby Barney; and two brothers, Raymond Mutton and Richard Mutton.

Bob had served his country in the United States Air Force.

Following his time in the military, he worked for Pabst and later for Red Diamond Battery Company for twenty years. He also had worked for Seven Oaks, Shopko, Neighborhood House and for Giliatt’s Lanes. He and his wife Kay also owned and operated a restaurant in Creve Coeur from 1985 to 1995.

Bob liked fishing, gardening and flowers. He was an awful good guy and made friends very easily.

Cremation rites will be accorded and services will be held at a later date. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
