Robert D. Tapping

Robert D. Tapping, 92, of Peoria County, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Hallmark Nursing Center in Pekin, Illinois. He was born on August 23, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of William and Hattie (Neuenschwander) Tapping.

He is survived by two nieces, Cheryl Rybolt of Pekin, Illinois and Carol Michaelis of Huntley, Illinois; and one nephew, Jack Tapping of Virginia. He has several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Caleb and Glen Tapping, and one sister, Bernice Saylor.

Bob farmed all of his life on the family farm in Peoria County. He was a life long member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening, and shared his vegetables with family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Chapel in Pekin, Illinois. A visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Maple Ridge Cemetery, Mapleton. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
