

Born June 11, 1940 in Pekin to Henry and Mildred (Garmann) Ripper, he married Sharon Ann Bledsoe in Pekin. She died November 19, 2020 in Pekin.
Surviving are three children, Angie, Marta and Jason; two brothers, Allen (Jane) Ripper of Redford, Michigan and Bruce (Cathie) Ripper of Pekin; one sister, Mary Alice Ripper of Brodhead, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Donna Dvorak of Kirkwood, Missouri and Christy Jones of Pekin; one brother-in-law, Michael (Sheryl) Jones of Pekin and nieces and nephews, including Kenneth (Donata) Ripper, Erik (Kristin) Dannheiser-Ripper, Mark (Annette) Ripper, Matthew (Colleen) Ripper and Michael Ripper.
Roger had proudly served in the Illinois National Guard.
Raised on a dairy farm in Delavan, Roger worked on farm machinery and tractors in his early years. He then worked at Kriegsman Warehouses and Transfer in Pekin as then lastly as an over the road truck driver.
Roger enjoyed his many travels throughout the country.
He was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
Private burial will be held in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
