

Born May 6, 1941 in Pekin to Clarence and Ada (Lauss) Frye, he married Caroline Doty on June 2, 1965 in Pekin. He later married Linda Marie Sweeney on June 2, 1975 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Roy Frye and Ernie Frye, both of Bayless, Texas, Freddy Frye and Toby M. (Candace) Frye, both of Pekin; one daughter, Dora Frye of Newburg, Missouri; one step-daughter, Daphine (Jack) Brown of Topeka; two step-sons, Philip Hensley and Earl Hensley, both of Pekin; seventeen grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Arlita) Frye of South Pekin and one sister, Sandy (John) Buley of Pekin.
His parents preceded him in death.
He worked for the American Distilling Company in Pekin for 16 years, retiring due to disability in 1979.
He was the proud inventor of the portable wheel chair ramp.
His memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005at the Christian Life Church, 133 South Highland Avenue in Creve Coeur. The Rev. Ronald E. Talbot will officiate. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
