Born October 6, 1951 in Peoria to William Wayne and Rosemary (Henrich) Garmon, he married Patricia “Pat” Ann Scharon on March 2, 1972 in Pekin. She passed away on April 14, 2025, in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and several brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela (John) Snelson and Qiana Garmon, both of Pekin; one granddaughter, Brielle Snelson of Pekin and three brothers, Dave Garmon, Larry (Brenda) Garmon and Terry (Dorothy) Garmon.
Ron worked as a laborer for 51 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of the Laborer’s Local 231 in Pekin.
He loved cooking and spending time with his family. He was very creative and good with his hands, especially woodworking and basic construction.
Ron was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
A celebration of Ron and Pat’s lives will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
