

Born October 5, 1942 in Peoria to Joseph Paul and Ella (McGuire) Kelly, he married Jettie Smart on June 22, 1963. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Abner) Miranda of Tennessee and Chris (Marty) Thompson of Florida; two sons, Ronald P. Jr. (Collene) Kelly and Mark (Roberta) Kelly, both of Michigan; 12 grandchildren, Ian, Emily, Sydney, Kiley, Kristopher (Jessica), Kalvin, Nathan (Vivi), Andrew, David (Kristen), Julie, Abigail and Addison; two sisters, Donna Barkley and Mary Lou (Bob) Lonteen; one brother, Richard (Cheryll) Kelly; five nephews, Gordon Lee (Connie) Barkley, Robb (Cathy) Barkley, Harold West III, Brent Lonteen and Reed Lonteen; and four nieces, Terri Cameron, Jennifer (Nick) Miller, Jeannine Davenport and Heather (Mat) Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold West and Larry Joseph Kelly; one sister, Joan Colwell and one nephew, Arlen West.
Ronald was employed at CEFCU for 29 years, retiring in 2007 as an EDP Auditor.
He loved spending time with his family, reading, and watching movies. He was a generous man towards people and animals and especially enjoyed feeding the wildlife in his backyard.
Cremation will be accorded.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Peoria SDA Church on Knoxville Ave. Officiated by Pastor Ron Kelly.
Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
