

Born November 20, 1948 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Olen and Imogene (Newland) Miller, he married Deborah Kaye Chrisman on July 2, 1994 in Pekin. She died January 7, 2019 in Peoria. He later married Nannette Ann Parrett on March 22, 2024. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Shannon (Michelle) Miller of Savannah, Georgia, Shawna Piros of Overland Park, Kansas and Kandy (Habe) Darr of Lathrop, Missouri; two stepsons, Todd (Renae) Hall of Pekin and Trevor (Angela) Hall of Green Valley; one step-daughter, Heather Bancroft of East Peoria; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three brothers, Eddie (Linda) Miller, Larry (Cheryl) Miller and Terry Miller, all of Kirksville, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was a veteran of the United States Army.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He later worked in maintenance at Morton High School, retiring in 2014 after 20 years.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses.
Ronald was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ of Pekin and was attending Summit Point Church in East Peoria.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Judy Steger Kennedy and Pastor Mike Klopfenstein will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
