Ronald E Trier

Born Sept. 3, 1937 in Chicago to Conrad and Ella (Ruppel) Trier, he first married Elizabeth Hocking.  He later married Dorothy J. Schank on Oct. 3, 1965 in Granite City.

Surviving are 6 sons, David (Toni) Trier of Mattoon, Bruce (Pam) Trier of Champaign , Eric Trier, Leif ( Nikki) Trier, Joel Trier , all of Pekin, and Phillip (Janet) Trier of  Albany,Ore.;3 daughters, Dawn Risk, of Ashcum, Joanna (Todd) Sitz of Arcola,, and Laura (Robert) Westcott of Mattoon; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Amanda Lucier; and a brother, Roger Trier, Sr.

Ron worked out of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #1 in Peoria for over 20 years.

He loved fishing and was a Chicago Bears and Metamora Red Birds football fan.

Ron served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959.

His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the servic
