

Born April 10, 1930 in Fairview to William Byron and Zelpha Mae (Schrodt) Schleich, she married Donald Frank Gianessi on June 14, 1952 in Wheaton. He died November 22, 2010 in Pekin. She also was preceded by one granddaughter, Emily Ann Gianessi; one great-great-grandson, Charles Joseph Lee; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are five sons, Daniel (Jeri Lynn) Gianessi, Joe (Stacie) Gianessi and Michael Gianessi, all of Pekin, Gary (Lara) Gianessi of Westerville, Ohio and David Gianessi of Weirton, West Virginia; four daughters, Diane Gianessi of South Pekin, Donna Taylor, Brenda Gianessi and Tina Gianessi, all of Pekin; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-three
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Theresa) Schleich of Monmouth; and three sisters, Mary Jane Schleich of Abingdon, Alice (Larry) Plate of Adair and Ruth Quigley of Moline.
Rose was a 1947 graduate of Cuba High School and later graduated in 1952 from Graham Hospital School of Nursing in Canton. Rose had worked as a registered nurse at Pekin Hospital. She also had been head nurse at Tazewell County Nursing Home and at Pekin Community High School.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rose’s life was surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed flower gardening.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, the Council of Catholic Women, and formerly taught CCD classes at the church.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with the recitation of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
