

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ Roxanna V. "Roxie" (Redfield) Stivason, 69, of 102 Douglas Road, passed away at 5:21 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at her home.Born July 19, 1938 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania to Alfred Andrew and Caroline Jane (Coleman) Slagle, she married Chauncey Eugene Redfield on October 6, 1955 in Winchester, Virginia. She later married James F. Stivason on December 24, 1996 in Lakeland, Florida. He died May 24, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Alfred "Laverne" Slagle), and two sisters (Carrie Amanda Padgett and Garnet June Pierce).Surviving are one son, David E. (Sherry) Redfield of Simpsonville, South Carolina; three daughters, Andrea J. "Andi" (Jim) Preston, Karen E. (Ron) Spiller, and Susan L. (Joe) Hoover, all of Marquette Heights; three step-sons, William (Suzanne) Stivason, John (Christine) Stivason, and Robert Stivason, all of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Redfield of Valparaiso, Indiana, Kristine Redfield, John (Sara) Hessling, III, James "Jamie" Wendle, Kyle Hoover, and Alexander Hoover, all of Marquette Heights, David E. Redfield, II of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Andrea (Mark) Childress of Lakeland, Florida, Jackie (Seth) Prince of Delavan, Benjamin (Melissa) Spiller of Edwardsville, and Derek Hoover of Peoria; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Roxie had been a bus driver for North Pekin/Marquette Heights School District #102 for 18 years. She was a volunteer in volunteer services at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for the past several years.She was a member of North Pekin Church of the Nazarene.Roxie enjoyed helping and spending time with her family.Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the North Pekin Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Roger Davis will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
