

Born July 3, 1934 in Creve Coeur to Robert and Bessie (Wamsley) Carlton, he married Wilda Hancock on October 17, 1953 in Corinth, Mississippi. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Cindy Carlton of Pekin; two brothers, Perry (Dee) Carlton of East Peoria and Fred (Mary) Carlton of Astoria; three sisters, Mary Yerby of Pekin, Shirley Gaisford of Bloomington and Judy (Larry) Hallar of Pekin. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bessie Jacobs; and one brother, Robert Carlton.
Tod worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1991 as a general foreman at the Mapleton plant.
He enjoyed coaching boys baseball in Pekin for 30 years. He also was proud to have kept score at the Pekin Dragons football games for many years. He was a life long fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
A celebration of Tod’s life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jim West will officiate. Private burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation at 710 West 168th St. New York, New York 10032.
