

Born April 27, 1937 in Peoria to Arthur Roy and Irene Ina (Roath) Parshall, he married Barbara L. Tolbert on September 5, 1964 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Scott E. (Amy) Parshall of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Lynn M. (Jesse) St. Clair of Pekin; three grandchildren, Tyler G. Curtis of Pekin, Brittany N. Parshall of Lake St. Louis and Samantha L. St. Clair of Pekin and one brother, Glenn (Connie) Parshall of Chillicothe.
His parents preceded him in death.
Roy served with the United States Army in Germany from May 1, 1957 to April 21, 1959 and attained the rank of Private First Class.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 ½ years, retiring in 1996 as an assembler at Mossville.
An Eagle Scout, he was formerly a scout master with Pack 183 at C.B. Smith School in Pekin and a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 65 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin, where he formerly served the church as an elder.
He loved to travel and enjoyed camping.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Stephen B. Whitaker will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2007 at the funeral home.
