She was born January 23, 1939 in Mason City to Clarence and Lula Mae (Kessler) Vaughn.
Surviving are one daughter, Theresa (Jim) Weaver of Creve Coeur; three sons, Louie Dean (Rose) Ervin, Jr., Gilbert (Teresa) Ervin, and Alex Ervin, all of East Peoria; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Phillis Bryson, Kenneth Vaughn, Ronnie Vaughn and Diane Mullins and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Eddy Ervin and seven siblings, Patty Vaughn, Jean Lane, Linda Aschenbernner, Evelyn Godbey, Judy Pollard, Dwane Vaughn and Joan Wilson
Ruby was a homemaker and devoted her life to her children and she enjoyed spending time with them more than anything.
She was a member of the Bay View Baptist Church in Washington.
Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Brian Currier will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fon du Lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.
