

Born February 17, 1936 in Peoria to Carroll Fred and Elsie (Horton) Morris, he married Alice May Hutchison on February 20, 1962 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Monica K. (Robert) Link of Eureka and Tammy L. (Wade) Helm of Pekin; two sons, Sheldon Dale, Jr. (Anne) Morris of Moline and Robert John (Janet) Morris of Brimfield; ten grandchildren, Sarah A. Morris, Breanna M. Morris, Joshua C. Helm, all of Pekin, Jonathon D. Morris, Robyn J. Morris, both of Brimfield, Scott R. Woods, II of Washington, Michael L. Woods, Nathan W. Greenstreet, Shawn D. Link, all of Eureka and Justin Morris of Moline; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandy (Dale) Dover of Idaho Falls, Idaho and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Morris of Homosassa Springs, Florida. He also leaves his beloved cat, Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Dale served in the United States Army from May 1, 1953 to April 25, 1956.
He worked in sales for Christian radio station, WVEL 1140 A.M. for many years, last working in 1999. He also was known as the "Kirby Guy," selling vacuum cleaners throughout the Peoria area for years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin.
Dale truly loved his grandchildren. He was a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pastor Brad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Combs Cemetery near Kickapoo.
