Born November 4, 2000 in Pekin, he was the son of Thomas and Nicole (Riley) Rodgers.
Surviving are his parents of Pekin; one sister, Laurissa (Kevin Thompson) Rodgers of Pekin; one brother, Andrew Rodgers of Pekin; paternal grandparents, Robert Rodgers of Topeka, Elizabeth Lurz of Pekin and Glen (Peggy) Lurz of Groveland; his maternal grandfather, Kim Hamilton of Missouri; two aunts, Wendy (Steve) Griffith of Charleston, South Carolina and Nicky (Dan Bailey) Rodgers of Pekin; two uncles, Eli Rodgers of Topeka and Donny Fiessinger Jr. of Miami, Florida; five cousins, Devon McClanahan, Kelton Bailey, Joel Bitterman, Jared Bitterman, and Vivionna Bailey and his girlfriend of five years, Baylee Morris of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Don Fiessinger of Pekin; maternal great-great grandfather, Aubrey Fiessinger of Pekin and paternal great-grandparents, Norma and Willis Tyler of Wyoming Illinois.
Samuel had worked as a carpenter for the past two years at Carpenters Local Union 237.
He was a fun loving, free spirit who had a big heart and would help anyone in need, even if it meant giving someone the shirt off his back. He loved the outdoors from the fields to the river, forests to the skies. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a charismatic person who knew how to light up the room. He enjoyed flying planes and was trying to get his pilot’s license. He was a member of the Carpenter Local Union 237 and Pheasants Forever. Loved by all and never forgotten.
A celebration of Samuels’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
