Sandra K Beck

Born June 17, 1942 in Peoria to Millard and Dorothy Jewel (Reynolds) Broughton, she married Michael David Haynes.  He preceded her in death.  She later married James Robert Beck on May 3, 1968 in Peoria.  He died February 9, 2007 in Pekin.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-father, James McGrady, who helped raise her; one son, Michael Raymond Haynes; two brothers, William Broughton and Robert Broughton; and two sisters, Mildred Near and Vicki Garner.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Wheeler and Jamie (Mike) Reynolds, both of Pekin; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Rebecca (Glen Canada) Lash of Pekin, Betty (Tony) Schmidt of Peoria, Bev (Dan) Byrd of Chatham, Barb (Del) Tebelman of Peoria, and Penny (James) Vannoy of Delavan; and four brothers, James McGrady and Don (April) Martin, both of Lincoln, Lloyd (Valerie) Martin of Waynesville, and Brad (Ingrid) Martin of San Jose.

A homemaker, Sandy enjoyed bowling, playing Bunco and video games, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
