

Born April 7, 1943 in Pekin, she was a daughter of Oakley Ray and Elizabeth Jewell (Buchanan) Stovall. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, A. Paul Metcalf of Pekin; five grandchildren, Sam (Aubrey) Metcalf of Pekin, Joe (Haley) Metcalf of Germantown Hills, Robbie Metcalf of Emden, Anthony Metcalf of Pekin and Zachary Metcalf of Tremont; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Cindy (Jim) Smith of North Pekin; one nephew, Jeff (Tina) Justice of Pekin and one niece, Andrea “Andi” (Justin) Schoenbein of North Pekin.
Sandy retired from Caterpillar, Inc., and went back to work two different times after retirement.
Sandy’s faith in Jesus was most important to her. She faithfully shared her gift as a pianist by playing for the first service each Sunday morning at First Baptist Church in Pekin, where she was a member. She also played for Christmas Eve services and other special events for the church including their senior luncheons. Sandy was a longtime member of the Maranatha Sunday School Class at the church.
Sandy was family-centered and super involved with her family. She enjoyed photography and liked shooting.
Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Vernon Risner will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
