Born May 7, 1961 in Peoria to George J. and Gloria J. (Johnson) Litz, Jr., he married Lilly M. Reese on December 22, 1979 in Manito. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Gloria Litz of Manito; one son, Scott L. (Barbara) Litz, II of Sidney, Ohio; one daughter, Juley Litz of Sidney, Ohio; three grandchildren, Shelby, Chase and James; two sisters, Melody Litz of Greeneville and Alisa Rabb of Pekin and his mother-in-law, Lilly M. Reese of Ava, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, Anzel Reese.
Scott had worked for the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in Hartville, Missouri as a dispatcher.
An avid ham radio operator, Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a car enthusiast.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dillon Cemetery in rural Tremont.
