

CANTON ~ Senior Airman Steven Wayne Munter, 23, of 1300 South Farmview Drive, Dover, Delaware died as a result of a motorcycle accident at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in the emergency room at Nanticoke Medical Center in Seaford, Delaware. He was formerly of Canton and Pekin.
Steve was born December 19, 1983 in Pekin to Jack and Kristina Counterman Munter.
Surviving are his father of Canton; mother and step-father, Kristina and Mark Lynn of Pekin; grandparents, Wayne and Marjorie Counterman of Pekin; three brothers, Austin Edwards of Pekin, Clint Lynn-Smith of Bloomington, and Donnie Blue of Peoria; and one sister, Clarissa Lynn of Pekin.
He had attended Pekin Community High School from 1998 to 2000 and graduated from Canton High School in 2002. Steve played baseball and football in high school and was a member of both the Canton and Farmington Men's Basketball leagues. He was an active member of the Canton YMCA. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Steve had attended Illinois Central College and Spoon River College.
Steve was a member of the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria and was assigned to the 182nd Port Wing Flight which had been activated at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He was a cargo controller for a C-17 transport plane.
His funeralwill be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, wheremilitaryrites will be provided by the United States Air Force.
