

Born June 18, 1947 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Karl Bernard and Dorothy Ruth (Garrett) Ankrom. She married Thomas Lee Tonkin, Sr.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Starr of Salem and Karen (Rance) Fouts of Pekin; one son, Thomas Tonkin, Jr. of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Rance Dylan (Jacey Neff) Fouts of pekin, Hunter (Peyton Henderson-Barrow) Fouts of Pekin, Brooklyn Tonkin of Pekin, Carter Tonkin of Pekin, Brandon (Krystal) Starr of West Frankfurt, Michael (Cassie) Starr of Clay Center, Kansas, Amber Starr of Salem and Hunter Hohensee of Pekin; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Don (Susie) Ankrom of Rockport, West Virginia; three sisters, Carol (David) Schneider of Highland, Michigan, Carla Reeves of Walker, West Virginia and Sylvia (Scott) Lowe of Parkersburg, West Virginia and one step-brother, Larry Ankrom of Stuart, Florida.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Sharon retired after worked 15 years as a C.N.A. at Morton Terrace. She previously managed Casey’s General Store in Tremont.
Sharon had a love for horses and was particularly good at making arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets and baby outfits.
She had a love for life and will be remembered as always being happy.
She was a Christian.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
