Sherry Lynn Emmons

Born August 15, 1963 in Pekin to Robert Eugene and Shirley Ann (Taylor) Smith, she married Rodney Dean Emmons on July 18, 1998 at Sand Ridge State Forest. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Hannah Ruth Ann Emmons of Manito; two sons, Brandon (Sierra) Emmons of Manito and Cody (Andrea) Emmons of Pflugerville, Texas; two grandchildren, Oaklynn Emmons and Wrenley Emmons; one brother, Robert Smith of Hyannis, Massachusetts and one sister, April (Dan) Riggs of Rockford.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Don Smith.

Sherry last worked at Little Harvesters Daycare in Manito and previously had worked for the United States Postal Service at the Manito Post Office for a number of years.

She loved to read and travel, especially to Cape Cod. Spending time with family was also very important to her.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
