

She was born November 10, 1947 in Pekin to Robert Nelson and Dorothy Adaline (Cornwell) Cooper. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two daughters, Dorothy (Rick) Bradford of Armington, Billie Jo Armstrong of Iowa; one son, Robert Michael Armstrong of Armington; two step-sons, David (Kim) Armstrong of North Carolina, Eugene Swain of Armington; one step-daughter, Wendy Murray of Washburn; two sisters, Betty Cooper of Pekin, Barbara Pollard of Florida; 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Shirley was a beautician for 15 years and went on to work for Yellow Checker Cab Company for 18 years and Press Shuttle for several years.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, bowling, dancing, and Elvis Presley.
A gathering celebrating Shirley's life will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday February 20, 2021 at the Outhouse.
Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
