

She was born September 12, 1932 in Peoria to William and Edna (Umdenstock) Taylor. She married Jimmie Ballard in 1962 in Peoria. He passed away October 10, 2005 in East Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Armstrong.
Survivors include two daughters: Peggy (Denny) Tresenriter of Groveland, Sandra Taylor of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; two sons: David (Sonjia) Armstrong of Washington, Gerald (Cheryl) Armstrong of Wilmington, Illinois; three grandchildren: Jacob (Kori) Tresenriter of Morton, Kelsie and Natalie Tripp both of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and two great-grandsons: Aaron and Matthew Tresenriter of Morton.
Shirley was a beautician and instructor, she worked for Caterpillar, and the Railroad. Shirley was known as “The Flower Lady” and had a passion for creating arrangements and teaching classes.
She loved to talk to her family on the phone, go to movies, and go out to eat.
Shirley loved and was loved by her family.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Chaplain Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
