Shirley Ann Cramer

Born April 8, 1945 in Peoria to Heye E. and Beulah (Meisinger) Look, Sr., she married Clarence B. Cramer on October 28, 1961 in Peoria. He died on September 19, 2002 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Clarence Byron Cramer, Jr. and six sisters, Marguerite Look, Carrie Look, Kathy King, JoAnn Keefauver, Minnie Deffenbaugh and Rose Lightbody.

Surviving are two daughters, Jody (David) Bontz of Hanna City and Christy (Duane) Payton of Mackinaw; four grandchildren, Kelly (Josh) Harken, Julie (Jeff) Hinchman, Sarah (Zach Dentino) Payton and Dustin (Rhaven) Payton; eleven great-grandchildren, Noah, Alexander, Byron, Mason, Aberdeen, Eliza, Addilyn, Phoenyx, Waylon, Daxtyn and Deztyn; two brothers, Heye Look, Jr. of Topeka and Donald (Jeri) Look of Mapleton; two sisters, Barbara Haley of Peoria and Debra Look of Morton and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley first worked as a curbie at the A & W Rootbeer Stand in Bellevue, where she met the love of her life, Clarence, and married shortly after. Together they enjoyed 41 years of Christian marriage. Throughout the years she was the neighborhood babysitter and watched over 70 children in her home. She also was a private caregiver working for Illinois Department of Rehabilitation caring for seniors.

She volunteered with the American Heart Association for more than 10 years. Shirley was a gifted seamstress and cake baker. She was passionate about baking birthday cakes for all of her loved ones and made clothing and gifted dolls at Christmas for the Children's Home in Peoria.

Shirley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bartonville, where she was a member WELCA and their Nature Trails group. For many years she organized the annual church cleaning event. She was also the program director for the Living Last Supper at St. John's for several years before Easter and as a family held a drive thru Live Nativity on her farm in Hanna City, both of which she made the wardrobe for. She was a longtime Girl Scout leader and was a former member of the Winnie the Pooh Camping Club.

Shirley was devoted to her family and her sweet personality brought the best out in others that were around her. She was the glue that held her family together and was truly cherished and respected by her entire family.

Her funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2026 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Pastor Paul Chapman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Limestone Township Fire Protection District for Central Station.
