She was born August 10, 1937 in Belle Rive to Evan and Lucille (Webb) Page. Her parents preceded her in death along with one sister, Imogene McKee.
Surviving are four sons, Steven Smith of Creve Coeur, Gregory (Jody) Smith of North Pekin, Gary Smith of Sarasota, Florida, and Michael Smith of Dunlap; two grandchildren, Jared Smith of Pekin and Andrea Smith of Creve Coeur; and one sister, Norma Pierce of Mount Vernon.
Shirley had worked as a secretary for Randy Reiman State Farm Insurance in Peoria for 16 years. Previously, she worked as a telemarketer.
Shirley was a former volunteer at Pekin Hospital, Salvation Army, Crisis Intervention, at with her son’s school and Cub Scout activities. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her funeral will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. Michael McLeod will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
