Janelle, I just learned that your mother passed away. I am so sorry. May God surround you and your family with peace and comfort.

Where to even start? You are such a wonderful mom! A son couldn't ask for a better, more compassionate, caring, funny, understanding, patient mom! You always did what you could and sacrificed everything to make sure Janelle and I always had a roof over our head and food in our belly's! Thank you Mom for giving birth to me and passing down all the good traits that were also passed down to you! You are beautiful inside and out! I love you more than words can say! You will be in my heart and on my mind every single day!! I will see you again in such a better place! Xoxoxo 😘 p.s I've always really liked this picture of us together. Sonia was a loving, giving person, always laughing wherever she went.  Her family and friends always came first in her life.  She missed Mom and Dad terribly after their deaths and now they are together again, along with all other loved ones gone before, something I am sure she rejoices in.   Rest in peace, sister.  We love you.  

Our thoughts and prayers are also with Kenny, Michael, Janelle and their families.  May they find peace in all their wonderful memories of Sonia.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of the family and friends of Sonia. She was a beautiful sister in Christ and my friend.

I graduated high school with Sonia, we would talk throughout the years. We would run into each other  every now and then and it was always great to see her and hear her talk about her life. In September my father passed away and she reached out to me. I’ll never forget her kind and comforting words and how blessed I was to truly know her.  She touched so many hearts, mine included.  I miss you my dear friend, Heaven got the best when they got you.

We had a lot of good times Sis and I’ll sure miss you. You left us way too soon but you are now with our Lord and Savior and our loved ones already there. Prayers out to Kenny and Michael,Janelle. Sonia will be greatly missed! I have  known Sonia since 1974 kindergarden at McKinley school.She was always so nice and sweet. She was truly a great friend!!!!!

My love and condolence to all who suffer the loss of Sonia.  A truly lovable, likable and compassionate person.  She had a heart of gold and was so giving and forgiving with people.  Thank you for always showing me kindness, Sonia. All of my love always and till we meet again!  

Sonia was always more like my sister than my aunt, we are only 10 years apart. I have so many memories of us hanging out together as I grew up. She was always there for me , no matter what. She helped me through some really hard times and I am very grateful. I had the privilege of being able to work with her for a period of time at Hinckley Springs & county market.  That was a fun time :-) Sonia invited my mom to go eat with her at Fiesta ranchera one night (when they were still open in Pro in). My mom wasn't able to go so she asked if I would like to come along. I took her up on the offer and while I was there I met my future husband, he was our waiter:-) Sonia loved to tell the story of how she was a part of bringing Hugo and I together. We have now been married for over 20 years! I will forever miss you and will forever love you! I am so thankful that you are in Paradise with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Until I see you again!❤️

Our dear sister was truly an angel on earth. She was the most compassionate, caring and loving person to her family and everyone she came in contact with. She would do anything for anyone, she had a heart of gold. She loved her husband, children and family with all of her heart , there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for any one of us. We were so blessed to have her as our " little sis".  My heart is broken because ill miss her sweet smile and all the great times we had together.  She always  loved spending time with family.  I know  that she's rejoicing in heaven with our Heavenly Father and shes with mom, dad and all of our loved ones who went before us.  Shes finally free from pain and suffering and walking on streets of gold in the presence of our Lord! Until we see you again,my precious sister. I love you. ❤

I always loved how you came to Christmas  and we all played white elephant and you had to have your Elvis stuff.  Love and miss you Sonia😭❤

To all the Mandrell family, especially Stan Vicki Carey and Sheila. Lots of memories of Sonia growing up next door and playing with my three Riviere girls. Jack would come over and talk politics and Caterpillar with my husband Ernie. Mary was quieter and loved her family.  Strange that the youngest is the first to join your parents. My condolences for your loss. 


Thoughts and prayers for the family. Sonia was always so good to "Granny Jan" when she lived by me and then later, whenever I saw her. Being old enough to be her parent, her kindness was soooooooooo appreciated. RIP my friend.

I worked with Sonia for years in the Deli at County Market, so many awesome memories!  I spent many evenings at her house while she colored my hair.  Sonia always had a smile on her face & would do anything for anyone, she will definitely be missed!!

Sonia was a dear friend and a special lady. I am praying for the family and friends. My heart aches for you. Stay strong in the Lord.

I remember the first time I complimented Sonya on her sweet tea. I said, "You've got to go pretty far south to get tea as good as this. What's your secret?"

"I'm sweet," she said. And then she laughed.

"No," I questioned seriously. "I really want your recipe."

But Sonya couldn't give me specifics. "Just water, tea and be sweet."

Later on, I asked about her yummy chicken n' dumplings.  "It's simple," she said. Sensing my frustration with her lack of specifics or a written down recipe, she gave up. "Just tell me what time to come to dinner, I'll bring the chicken n' dumplings."

"And your sweet tea?"

"Sure."

Right now, I'm wishing I would have taken her up on that offer.

We will miss this sweet soul who is now with the Lord in heaven. She was always ready to help, always friendly.  I will miss you and that big smile cuz.  The West family sends our deepest condolences to Sonia's  family, and to the other Mandrell cousins.
