

She was born on August 9,1969 in Quincy, the daughter of Gerald Ray and Deborah Ann (Clarke) Kempf.
Surviving are her mother, Deborah Ann (Bryan Bruns) Kempf of Quincy; her father, Gerald Ray (Linda) Kempf of Mount Sterling; three brothers, Gerald “Chris” (Kelly) Kempf of Pekin, Richard “Rick” Kempf of Farmington, Lucas (Gabrielle) Kempf of rural Mount Sterling two nieces, Abigail and Ella and five nephews, Andrew, Braxton, Maddox, Colt and Reese.
Stacey graduated from Quincy Notre Dame High and received her Master of Science in Administration of Justice from Bellevue University.
She retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections serving as the Chief of Security after thirty-one years of service. After retiring she served as the Jail Administrator for Tazewell County Sherriff’s Office for five years.
An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Stacey loved her fur babies and hanging out with her friends and family.
Stacey will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. Pastor Nate Walters will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Honor Guard will be provided by the Illinois Department of Corrections and Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. A memorial service will be held on a later date in Mount Sterling.
