

Born January 4, 1941 in Nortonville, Kansas to Hubert Arville and Doris Helen (Stephan) Bond, he married Ruth Marie Adkins on May 2, 1964 in Elgin. She survives of East Peoria.
Also surviving are four daughters, Lynda Mitton of Fountain, Colorado, Sharon Bond of Peoria, Debbie (Heath) Harper of Groveland, and Christine (Ron) Colvin of Washington; seven grandchildren, Britney Girton, Brianna Girton, John Girton, Danzig Girton, Katie Pilcher, Dougie Mitton, Jr., and Joseph Harper; three great-grandchildren, Nyla Brock, Josiah Tracy, and Ciella Girton; and one sister, Sue (Larry) Hanebrink of Ferguson, Missouri.
His parents preceded him in death.
A United States Army veteran, he served from August 4, 1959 to August 3, 1961. He attained the rank of Private First Class.
Stan worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 11 years, retiring in 1974 as a telegrapher.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.
Stan enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He cherished the time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin, where visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Najpaver will officiate. Cremation will be accorded.
