Stanley D. Wade

Born December 16, 1937 in Pekin to Eugene and Wilma (Smith) Wade, he married Shirley Ann Davis on September 3, 1965 in Pekin. She passed away on November 21, 2017 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Shannon Wood-Pierce.

Surviving are one daughter, Rae Wade of Manitou Springs, Colorado; one son, Troy (Judy) Wade of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren, Justin (Courtney) Wade of Houston, Texas, Tyler (Marybeth) Wade of Jacksonville, Texas and Tori Wade of Arlington, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Charlie Wade, Paisley Wade, Finnley Wade, Jayden Wood, Gabriel Wood, Garrett Wood, Wade Pierce and Wyatt Pierce and one sister, Janice (Everett) Shue of Pekin.

Stan worked for American Distilling Company in Pekin for 22 years in maintenance, remaining with the company until it closed. He later worked for many years with the Pekin Park District in their maintenance department. Stan loved working at the park. He was proud of his carpentry work at the park and in helping build the Sundial in the sunken garden.

He was an avid gun owner and especially loved his family cabin down at Spring Lake. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing at the lake, and he took deep satisfaction in building with his own hands. He lived in the second house which he built.

He was affiliated with First United Methodist Church in Pekin.

His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2026 at Antioch Cemetery in rural Tremont. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
