Stella Tucker

Born November 27, 1931 in Harrisburg to Cressie and Ida (Pyles) Ewell, she married Richard D. Tucker on January 23, 1953 in Pekin.  He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Janet (Jack) Bridgeman and Judith Homerin, both of Pekin and Phyllis Whitby of East Peoria; one son, James (Deana) Tucker of Pekin; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Ewell of South Pekin; and one brother, John (Mary) Ewell of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, one half-sister, and two half-brothers.

Stella worked for many years in Pekin area restaurants, last working at Bergner’s Cafeteria, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Pekin First Church of God.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Pekin First Church of God.  The Rev. Paul Myers will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
