Born May 14, 1956, in Peoria to George and Rita (Walker) Barger, he married Joy Lee on June 23, 1995, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Christopher Ryan Barger and one brother, George Barger Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ladonna Goodrich and Mary Ann Harris.
Stephen was a self-employed contractor.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music and working on his truck.
A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
