

PEKIN ~ Steven Dewayne Kohler, 74, of Pekin, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Carle Health Pekin Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1951 in Pekin, a son of Henry and Veldia G. Kohler. Steven married Violet Elaine Beach on June 11, 1982 in Pekin. She survives and will greatly miss him.
He is also survived by his three children, Rick (Jo Ann) Wilson of South Pekin, David (Melissa) Wilson of North Pekin, and Angel (Brent) Pringle of Pekin; five grandchildren, Justin Clancy of Washington, Mercedes Fromm of Pekin, Hunter Fromm of Pekin, Ty Wilson of Pekin, and Grayce Semonski of Creve Coeur; and seven great-grandchildren.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and one brother.
He was a graduate of Pekin Community High School.
Steven worked for the railroad, Pekin Hospital, Steger's Furniture, KR Packaging, and Pekin Park District.
He loved fishing, listening to classic rock music, drag racing old cars, and especially spending time with his family.
Steven was a great guy who loved his family and would do anything for anybody. He will be missed deeply by those whose life he touched.
Steven's family has arranged a celebration of life gathering from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, at North Pekin Village Hall, 206 Lincoln Boulevard, North Pekin, IL 61554.
Cremation has been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
