Susan Hinton Woody

EAST PEORIA ~ Susan Hinton Woody, age 64, of East Peoria, Illinois, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on July 25, 2026. She was a well-regarded mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, throughout her dynamic life. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her well.

Born on April 25, 1962 in Peoria, Illinois, she was the youngest daughter of Jerry Lee Hinton and Dot Britton Hinton of East Peoria, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Dot Hinton, and her son, Jerry Lee Ankeny.

She is survived by her four daughters, Stacy Ann Forster, Jamie Lynn Ankeny, Jacquelyn Lohmann Powell, and Tiffany Lohmann Cox, and her two sisters, Julie Hinton Phillips and Janet Hinton Walker, as well as 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and extended family.

Susan was known for her sentimental nature, and for her love of animals, family gatherings, and good times. She was easy to talk to and often wise beyond her years. Her surviving children are all immensely grateful to her for giving them life, and she will hold a place in many people’s hearts forever.

A gathering celebrating Susan's life will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Luthy Botanical Gardens, 2520 North Prospect Road in Peoria, Illinois.
