Suzanne E Cockerill

Born August 21, 1953 in Chicago to Robert and Annice (Fellows) Rohn, she married Michael J. Cockerill on July 18, 1974 in Titusville, Florida. He died August 2, 2016 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are two daughters, Nikki (Jim) Fink of Carthage and Bobbi (Todd) Humes of Louisiana; three sons, Scott (Samantha) Cockerill of Pekin, Michael William (Meagan) Cockerill of Chicago and Keith (Mia) Cockerill of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Bryer and Brock Fink, Gavin, Sydney, Zach, Mason, and Thomasin Cockerill; one sister, Kathy Williamson of Pekin and six brothers, Dan (Vanessa) Avery of Virginia, Illinois, Robert “Bob” Rohn of Pekin, William “Bill” Hegener of Ipava; Ed Hegener of Tremont; Michael Rohn of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Theodore Rohn of Gary, Indiana.

Sue had worked as a caregiver for Davies Square in Pekin for 15 plus years retiring in 2014. She was also a longtime volunteer for the Special Olympics and served on the Regional Board.

A loving and caring mother and nana, Sue enjoyed cooking, baking, camping and in her youth she enjoyed riding motorcycles. Her greatest fulfillment was spending time with her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
