

Born October 26, 1925 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Clarence Aubrey and Louvera Cora (Butler) Andrews, he married Eleanor May Thurman on September 1, 1950 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Allan Andrews of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Sandra Kay Jackson of Creve Coeur; one grandson, David William (Katherine) Jackson of North Pekin; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Monty (Margaret) Andrews of Franklin, North Carolina; and one sister, Marsha Bohn of Salmon, Idaho.
His parents preceded him in death.
A United States Navy veteran of World War II, he served from May 4, 1943 to March 4, 1946. He attained the rank of Seaman First Class.
Jack worked for Kroger’s for 25 years at the Peoria warehouse and later at the East Peoria warehouse. He retired March 1, 1984. Previously, he worked for the ABC Washing Machine Company in East Peoria on the dryer line.
He was a life member of the Martin-Courtney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4835 and attended Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ, both in Creve Coeur.
In past years, Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling.
His memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the service. The Rev. Paul Isom will officiate. Private burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria with military rites accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and United States Navy.
