CREVE COEUR ~ Tamera Lynn “Tammy” Rasmussen, 59, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 6:13 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Lakeside Rehab & Healthcare in East Peoria and now rests safely in the arms of God.

Born November 10, 1961 in Decatur, she was the youngest daughter of William and Phyllis (Huffer) Johnstone. Tammy first married David Hagen of Metamora. They later divorced. She later married Scott Rasmussen.

Surviving are her husband, Scott, who says he lost his very best friend on this day; one brother, Kevin Scott (Linda) Johnstone of East Peoria; her nephews whom she dearly loved, Dustin (Angela) Ledbetter of Metamora and Derrick (Sabrina) Ledbetter of Peoria and two nieces, Jennifer (Wesley) Ballard of Peoria Heights and Erica Johnstone of Creve Coeur; a great-niece, Katie Ledbetter of Chillicothe and a special friend, Debbie Schwindenhammer of Bartonville, whom she had a deep friendship with for over 30 years. She also leaves two fur babies, Casey and Toto.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William David Johnstone; one sister, Laura Ledbetter and a niece, Theresa Johnstone.

Tammy loved her fur babies. Whether it was a dog or cat, it was a blessing to be rescued. She also enjoyed miniatures, toys, wooden items and doll houses.

Tammy was a service worker and very good at cooking. She worked as a deli manager at Tom Thumb Foods in Dallas, Texas. You may have also seen her at The 801 Club in Bartonville, where she worked in the kitchen, working under Carolyn Hannenman.

Tammy was of the Christian faith.

A private memorial service will be held at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin at a later date. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Cremation has been accorded and inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Tammy had a positive nature and always had a smile on her face. I loved her sense of humor. We shared many laughs together. My deepest condolences to her family and husband Scott.
