

She was born on November 21, 1954, in Peoria, a daughter of Rupert and Velda (Gibson) Watt.
Tami was preceded in death by her father and one son, Jacob Rogers.
She is survived by her children, Shane (Jessica) Rogers of Havana, Corina Maas of Marquette Heights; mother, Velda Gibson of Morton; one sister, Angela (Lyle) Mills of Marquette Heights; three brothers, Mark (Denise) Watt of Eureka, Brian Watt of Peoria and Richard (Angel) Smith of Elberta, Alabama and seven grandchildren.
Tami and her late husband Randy Heynen were members of Peo-Taz ABATE for many years and enjoyed fundraising and organizing events for their cause. She enjoyed live music and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. She enjoyed traveling, the beach and the outdoors, spending quality time with friends and family, karaoke and was an enthusiastic Chicago Cubs fan. Tami was always the organizer or host of parties. She gladly became the party. Tami and her family live streamed the Sunday services of Trinity Church in Morton.
She was a stay-at-home mother, a wife and homemaker, and she operated a daycare for several years.
Her memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory Creve Coeur Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on a later date. Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.
