Born August 28, 1986 in Peoria to Thomas Verci and Mary Jo (Yeagle) Eads, she married Jared Durbin October 3, 2020 in Monmouth. He survives.
Also surviving are her father, Thomas Verci, her mother Mary Jo (Chris) Eads; two children, Paetyn and Dairyen Putney of Kirkwood; four siblings, Joseph Yeagle of Niles; Matt (Tierra) Verci of Maricopa, Arizona; Kendra (Ryan) Deemie of Peoria; Colton Verci of Pekin and; one step-son, Mason Durbin of Kirkwood and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lindsey Verci.
Terra worked as a medical office assistant at the Burlington Neurology & Sleep Clinic in Burlington, Iowa and was working on a certification for medical coding.
Terra didn’t meet any strangers and to those that she did meet, she was the light of their life. She was an amazing mom, and her babies were her world. She was adamant about getting them to their sporting events (early or on time) and ensured they were in several extracurricular activities such as band and choir. Terra took pride in herself and in her family. She was a hard worker and consistently ensured the kids had everything they needed/wanted.
How can we forget the Green Bay Packers?! Terra was an avid fan and was known to “yell at the TV” during a game. Her father had recently purchased tickets for them to attend a game at Lambeau Field and she was so excited. She said she was “going to cry when she stepped into the stadium” and was so looking forward to the game.
She was an avid animal lover and was devastated about the recent loss of her cat, Kronos. She bought two turtles, Myrtle and Leo, to help with her grieving of Kronos. She also left behind two dogs, her husky Sarge and the newest member of the family, her puppy Onyx and her bearded dragon, Scarlet. She boasted about being a “zookeeper” and jokingly included her children in that “zoo”. If there was an animal that needed rehomed, she would ask the kids, “Can I have it”?
Terra loved to cook and bake, and pumpkin spice was her favorite.
She loved music and one of her favorite songs was “In the Stars”. Before kids, she was known to spend almost every Thursday evening with her mom, sister and friends singing karaoke. She had an impeccable sense of humor and loved to joke and laugh.
She was dedicated to her best friend, Jessica Curless, who was tragically taken away at the age of 18. Terra grieved over Jessica daily and we have comfort knowing that they are together now.
We also have so much comfort knowing that she and Karman Jessica will rest easy together forever.
Terra was such a sweet and amazing daughter, mom, sister, and friend and so many people will miss her tremendously. There is a hole in so many hearts that will remain forever.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 10th from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Quality Inn and Suites – 4112 N. Brandywine Drive in Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made to Better Banks for the children’s education.
