

Born March 13, 1928 in Jefferson City, Iowa to William Jacob and Flossie Greetna (Fisher) Dagit, she married Roy Junior “Bud” Pfeiffer on June 17, 1950 in Pekin.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Pfeiffer, and her two sons, Michael (Christine) Pfeiffer of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Bradley (Patricia) Pfeiffer of Laurel, Montana; four grandchildren, Dr. Cynthia (Chris Bruno) Pfeiffer of Studio City, California, Michael Pfeiffer of Gardena, California, Kristen (Jeremy) Solesbee of Kuna, Idaho and Christopher Roy Pfeiffer of Billings, Montana and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Thelma retired from Pekin Public Schools District 108 where she was a secretary at the former Lincoln School, in the district office and last at Douglas School. She previously had worked for Broderick and Bascom Wire Rope Company as an assistant office manager.
Thelma was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Pekin, where she formerly sang in the choir. She also sang for many years with the Beltones in Tucson. She was a former member of the Pekin Women’s Club, White Shrine, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Thelma was a member of many showtime productions of Pekin Civic Chorus through the years. She and her husband had a craft business that they enjoyed together after Roy retired ~ she created beautiful dried flower arrangements.
Thelma will be remembered as a kind, Christian woman who loved her family. They will miss her on a profound level. Her kindness and her love ~ this is her legacy.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Vernon Risner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
