

Toni was born on January 6, 1938 in Chillicothe RFD, Peoria County, the youngest of nine children of John and Virginia (Delsotto) Giosta, Sr. He married Joyce M. Bisio on April 7, 1956 in Toluca. She died on February 5, 2014. He also was preceded in death by his parents and his only son, Toni Peter Giosta, Jr. on August 17, 2016; two sisters, Ernistina Pope and Jean Shotton and four brothers, Neil Giosta, Raymond Giosta, Nester Giosta and John Giosta, Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula M. Ball of Pekin and Tamera M. (James) Hitpas of Peoria; three grandchildren, Benjamin Peter Giosta of Moline, Dominic John (Alex) Giosta of Chicago and Courtney Anne-Marie (Myles McDonough) Hitpas of Apex, North Carolina and two sisters, Julie Weber of Chillicothe and Clara Daum of West Milton, Ohio. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Toni was especially proud of his Italian Heritage, often proclaiming that his parents and sister, Ernistina, came from Italy, seven brothers and sisters were born in Canisburg, Pennsylvania and he being the only one of the Giosta’s born in Illinois.
Toni worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 44 years. He held numerous positions both hourly and in management where he retired from on February 1, 2000 as a technical writer.
Toni loved hands on projects of all kinds, liked to hunt and was an avid bird watcher. Most of all he was a devoted husband and father.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His private funeral services will be held at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
