

PEKIN ~ V. Joan Crum, 84, of Pekin, passed away at 1:14 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Morningside of Pekin.
Born October 27, 1931 in Scott County, IL to Samuel J. and Mary C. (Brown) Hawk, she married Richard E. “Dick” Crum on February 16, 1951 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Diane (John) Vogel and Carole (Mark VonDerHeide) Delahunt, both of Pekin; two sons, Richard A. (Karen) Crum of South Carolina and Robert A. (Cherie Turner) Crum of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean Haynes; one brother, David Hawk and one son-in-law, Michael Delahunt.
She drove a school bus for Hoyle School Transportation and later worked at Sunset Lanes in Pekin for 10 years, retiring in 1987.
An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Joan enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, quilting and needle working. She also enjoyed taking care of her family.
Joan attended First United Methodist Church of Pekin.
Her funeral will at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. James C. McClarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
